HABLON STRIPES

HABLON STRIPES

  • 100% polyester thread
  • Width 24"
Not to be confused with the Hablon of Iloilo, the people of Argao in Cebu province have their own version of the weave. Building on centuries of tradition, the weavers of Argao have mastered the stripe - developing several striped designs that prove that simple is beautiful.
HABLON PLAIN

HABLON PLAIN

  • 100% polyester thread
  • Width 24"
The art of weaving is woven into the soul of the municipality, with Spanish missionaries noting that the industry predates their occupation. From the Bisaya derivative habol (blanket), Hablon means to completely cover something with a piece of cloth. But the Hablon has proven to suit more than just blankets, with many of our apparel items incorporating the weave.
HABLON CROCHET

HABLON CROCHET

  • 100% polyester thread
  • Width 24"
In the Spanish period, nearly all the women in Argao worked as weavers. Nowadays, a weaving community led by Nanay Auring makes these weaves, including the slightly thicker variant made with crochet thread and used in apparel items.
