Our ancestors considered our Philippine weaves our second skin. We find that compellingly beautiful. It is heart-woven to represent our story, our heritage and our way of life. We wear who we are. The presence of modernization and influx of cheap import substitutes led to the decline of this tradition. Weaving became an undervalued skill unattractive amongst the young because of its limited access to markets.
Our purpose is to celebrate our culture and preserve this living tradition by providing enabling environments that will support sustainable livelihood. At ANTHILL, we work to rethread the tapestry that connects us to the past, to our cultural identity as Filipinos. We seek to retain weaving as a way of life and to wear who we are --- our story and heritage.
Our alternative approach to business is founded by our mission to keep our Philippine weaving traditions alive and to provide sustainable livelihood for our partner communities.
SEE OUR IMPACT
ANTHILL works on a human and community-centered business model that ensures a sustainable and inclusive supply chain. We recognize the valuable roles of our stakeholders in keeping our local weaving industry alive. These stakeholders are the young weavers who honor weaving as cultural inheritance, young designers who risk experimenting with weaves despite its limitations, production partners whose industry and skills are also at risk, and our weave wearers who proudly wear our tribe with pride. We cannot work with a missing link. We are one colony bonded by our shared vision that is constantly working on strengthening our relationship and our capacity. This is the solid foundation that makes us sustainable.
Our business model honors the valuable role each of our weavers, artisans, design collaborators, and production partners play in elevating our weaving traditions. These stakeholders form the tapestry of ANTHILL.
We aim to be steadfast guardians of Mother Earth by weaving manufacturing waste into new fabric. Under our circularity program, we strive to lengthen the product life cycle of our weaves to ensure environmental sustainability.
SEE OUR CIRCULARITY PROGRAMS
Our Community Enterprise Partners are self organised or co- organised weaving communities where we conduct our Community Enterprise Development Program (CEDP), monitor and evaluate our impact. We work directly with five community enterprises across the Philippines representing the urban, rural and indigenous sector.
Our Craft Partners are handcrafting communities under our Community Enterprise Development Program. These are Sesotunawa of Lake Sebu in South Cotabato on brass smithing and Handcrafters of Mary Enterprise (HOME) of Tisa Labangon, Cebu on plush toy making.
Our Textile Partners are established local businesses or non profit organisations and cooperatives where we source some of our weaves. Our program interventions are not as intensive among these stakeholders. Our commitment to these partners are limited to support in product design and market access only.
Our Production Partners in Manila and Cebu are community based or small to medium scale enterprises that assist us in turning our design dreams into reality. They are present across the country allowing us to expand our capacity, increase inventory and meet market demand.
At ANTHILL, fabrics are more than just a part of fashion. It is the thread that connects us all. It is where culture meets style. Through our heart-woven cloth, we dream collectively about making waves and spreading our trail around the world.

Our Design Collaborators are creatives, artists and designers who support us in elevating the value of our weaves through contemporary design. They transform the weaves in unique and ingenious ways through showcasing by products for both apparel and non-apparel.
ANTHILL is proud to be a partner in change with businesses and institutions that share our values on sustainable development, cultural advocacy, and championing better care for the environment. Through social procurement, these companies make good business by doing good.
This is our battle cry. We celebrate Filipino identity through heart-woven cloth. We transform traditional weaves into contemporary and zero waste design for everyday wear. Our movement of contemporary proud weave wearing is the foundation of our ecosystem.
